Welcome to the Future of Cannabis Research

Compassion Center is a participating partner in the Community-Based Clinical Cannabis Evaluation Research Network (CBCCERN). Recognizing that the future of healthcare revolves around quantifiable and qualified research, Compassion Center and the Center for Incubation & Findings Research cosponsor the CBCCERN, also known as  the Community-Based Clinical Cannabis Evaluation and Research Network in order to aid in facilitating that noble mission.

Similar to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other academic research institutions, the CBCCERN Investigational Review Board (IRB) qualifies, approves and guides each of its core research projects on behalf of the research institute, organization and community at large.

By strictly focusing on the benefits of cannabis for the treatment and alleviation of symptoms related to any one or more categorically complex illnesses, chronic or terminal illnesses, CIFR: CBCCERN focuses on solutions to research, develop and address therapeutic protocols that treat conditions not well-addressed by FDA approved therapies.

Participation in the CBCCERN is not mandatory for patients nor providers, rather it is provided as a convenience for all and a community service to providers, patients or researchers.

How it works: Patients provide certain information about the cannabis products that they are choosing to use for their conditions, and CBCCERN tracks the efficiencies of the products in question by logging the routes of administration, frequency of dosing and dosing strength in addition to the half life and onset of the relief, among a few other individual key factors. That information is blindly populated into a database application that can be readily accessed by academic scholars, researchers, clinicians and artificial intelligence for patient therapeutics.

In the event that a patient or provider decides to discontinue their participation, CBCCERN will still utilize raw data collected up until the date of cancellation for any/all scientific purposes. CBCCERN, CIFR and associated research committees are under the supervision and oversight of the Office of Accountability & Transparency, an extension of the Board of Trustees.
